MMA coach in Vladikavkaz accused of indecent acts involving assaulting girls

A criminal investigation is underway in Vladikavkaz against Gennady Kadzov, a 64-year-old coach formerly associated with the ARS combat sports club and previously holding the position of president of the National Karate Federation of North Ossetia–Alania. Authorities suspect Kadzov of committing indecent acts involving underage female students. According to reports from the BAZA Telegram channel, affiliated with law enforcement, at least four school pupils and vocational college students were allegedly victims.

The investigation suggests Kadzov engaged in sexual activity with trainees and exerted psychological pressure, threatening to expose them through local online chats with the claim they were “whores.” Investigators have identified approximately ten alleged offenses spanning from 2022 to 2025. Kadzov and his son, Inal Kadzov, have been suspended from their roles at ARS. A public statement on VKontakte, Sport Ossetii, claims the accusations are false, alleging the claims stem from disgruntled former students motivated by jealousy over the club’s success.

The coach’s son insists a thorough investigation is needed, citing omitted evidence and questioning the objectivity of the process. He emphasizes the lack of consideration for forensic medical examinations and suggests a deliberate conspiracy to remove Kadzov from his position. This case echoes a recent arrest of child psychologist Anton Shishenko in Vladikavkaz, who faced accusations of violent acts against underage patients following the interpretation of drawings by one of his young clients.

Shishenko confessed to over 50 episodes of abuse, including threats of institutionalization. Law enforcement has not yet determined whether Kadzov will be detained. The situation highlights concerns regarding safeguarding vulnerable individuals within sporting environments and underscores the importance of rigorous investigations when allegations of abuse are raised against a coach in vladikavkaz.
