Ambassadori Island Batumi hosts symbolic foundation capsule ceremony for landmark first tower

Ambassadori Island Batumi celebrated a significant event with a symbolic foundation capsule ceremony for the project’s initial tower, the First Tower. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and government officials attended this historic occasion alongside leadership from the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. The ambitious multi-functional complex represents a $200 million investment.

Officially, 22 hectares on the right peninsula have been secured, adding to the already operational 48 hectares of reclaimed land within the project area. The Ambassador Group, partnering with international firms like Yüksel Proje and Arup, is developing this innovative island. Arup’s involvement is focused on establishing a comprehensive Smart City vision, aiming to transform Ambassadori Island into a technologically advanced urban center.

The First Tower’s construction holds considerable importance as the initial structure on the reclaimed land. This complex will function as a self-contained ecosystem, offering premium residences, a top-tier hotel, a helipad, extensive wellness facilities, entertainment venues, and designer boutiques. The Italian studio D73 is responsible for the luxurious interior design, blending European sophistication with the island’s coastal character.

Strategically located near the yacht club and island boulevard, the First Tower serves as the primary attraction for the entire Ambassadori Island development. This project is vital for Georgia’s economy, projected to generate $65 million annually in tax revenue and create up to 20,000 jobs. Its scale rivals global infrastructure projects like the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline.

With 50% of land reclamation complete, the island, spanning 84 hectares with 49% for recreational zones, is progressing efficiently and ahead of schedule, solidifying Batumi and Georgia’s position on the global investment map. The project adheres to sustainable development principles, combining tourism and economic benefits.
