Adam Kadyrov makes first appearance after car accident

Adam Kadyrov made his initial public appearance following a serious car accident, marking his first sighting since reports surfaced in January. The Chechen Head, Ramzan Kadyrov, released a video on Wednesday showing his 18-year-old son, Adam Kadyrov, attending a meeting with Chechen security officials. Adam Kadyrov was present in his role as head of the Security Council in Chechnya.

During the meeting, he discussed ongoing efforts to combat price increases during Ramadan and highlighted initiatives to prevent terrorism and extremism. He also addressed threats posed by sabotage groups linked to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Ramzan Kadyrov, Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov, and Akhmad Kadyrov were also present.

Adam Kadyrov was involved in a significant car crash in Grozny on January 16th, initially reported as critical. Following the incident, Chechen authorities refrained from releasing official statements, leading to conflicting information and circulating claims about his injuries. Ramzan Kadyrov dismissed these reports as fabricated deep-fakes, emphasizing the need to counter misinformation.

Subsequent reports indicated Adam Kadyrov underwent surgery, with a broken jaw and spleen removal, and potential damage to his optic nerve possibly leading to vision loss. Adam Kadyrov, who turned 18 in 2025, is considered a key potential successor to his father, kadyrov. He already held numerous important positions, including overseeing the Security Department, the Security Council, the Interior Ministry, and the Russian Special Forces University.
